This year’s MiniCon was hosted by MoHud region under the leadership of Jack Hanifan. It was located at the Holiday Inn in Albany and was a very well orchestrated and attended event. Approximately 12 regions were represented with a total of 160 people.
In attendance from Topeka were Jeff Dahnert and Terry Ozment . They both spoke, listened and learned and it was great to see such support from our head office. Bob Introne, John Sheridan and Jerry Wannarka were also there as our directors speaking about topics concerning our future, rules and the search for a new President. The schedules for both National and Regional races were discussed and agreed upon by the hosting regions. I spoke about the TEAMDI PROIT Series and it was very well accepted and enjoyed by those in attendance.
The overall message was to be careful moving forward into 2009 regarding events. We need to cut back in quantity and offer quality events that should be well attended and hopefully allow the regions a reasonable profit in hopes of allowing them to continue to operate. It was noted that we now have more tracks to run events at and we must not over work our overworked troops. I would have personally liked to see some ideas or solutions to grow membership and workers but we as regions need to take this upon ourselves and get this accomplished. All in all it was a very positive and educational event and I for one feel very positive about the SCCA in 2009. I was very impressed by our leadership and know that we are in great hands. Thank you to MoHud Region and all who made this a great success.

What is TeamDI.com Pro IT?
The northeast Pro IT series was concieved in 2007 at the ARRC at Road Atlanta. Seeing what the Atlanta region was doing we knew we could do this up north. The reasoning behing this series is to allow our drivers to have more track time during the weekend. There is always an oppurtunity to 'double dip' and race in at least 2 races per weekend. This was also a way for the host region to collect an additional entry fee as well as provide the sponsors a showplace for their products. The Pro IT management does not receive any benefit besides seeing the racers have fun.
In 2008 we kicked off in Pocono and ended in New Jersey.
In 2009 we had our first Pro support race at NJMP with the ARCA series.
